Model Medicines joined BioPharm America in Boston at a pivotal moment for MDL-001, the company’s orally available, direct-acting pan-antiviral candidate. The event followed the company’s submission of a Pre-IND briefing document and meeting request to the FDA, as well as its acceptance into the NIH’s Antiviral Program for Pandemics.

Founder and CEO Daniel Haders, Ph.D., presented the company’s recent MDL-001 data and the broader potential of GALILEO™, Model Medicines’ AI-driven discovery platform. The presentation highlighted MDL-001’s treatment paradigm-changing potential, including preclinical data supporting its activity as a broad-spectrum antiviral and its suitability for simplified oral dosing.

The milestone also reflected Model Medicines’ growing scientific validation, with data being developed into a manuscript in collaboration with Arnab Chatterjee, Ph.D., at Calibr, the translational research division of Scripps Research, and Adolfo Garcia-Sastre, Ph.D., and Kris White, Ph.D., at the Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
